Jose Mari Chan is indeed a part of many Filipinos’ holiday season
Veteran singer-songwriter Jose Mari Chan reminded people that everyday should be Christmas Day.
JMC has become an icon of the holiday season in the Philippines. He has many Christmas songs that are extra popular during this time of the year. Since Pinoys are celebrating the holiday season by the start of “ber months”, as early as September, JMC’s Christmas songs are already playing on the radio and at different establishments.
Last month, JMC’s video went viral because he was singing his most famous holiday song Christmas In Our Hearts and he was getting emotional while performing.
In an interview, Jose Mari Chan explained why he was emotional at that time. He shared that people requested that song and he was amazed that they were singing along to his song. He was touched and moved by this.
In a recent interview on GMA’s morning show Unang Hirit, the veteran singer-songwriter has this reminder to all the people. “Everyday should be Christmas Day. The spirit of Christmas is giving and sharing, that is what gives meaning to life,” he said. He also said that people should share their blessings with other people who are in need.
Meanwhile, when it comes to memes featuring him that would always circulate before or on September 1, the veteran artist said that he finds them funny but he reminded the public not to overdo this.
With his iconic Christmas songs, it was recently announced that these will be featured in a musical. Filipino theater company Repertory Philippines made the special announcement on September 1.
The Going Home To Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan Musical will be held on November 29 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati City.
