NBI Claims Alice Guo Allegedly Used Doppelgänger Or Lookalike To Evade Authorities

ALICE GUO – A National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) source claims dismissed Bamban City mayor Alice Guo allegedly used doppelgänger or lookalike to evade authorities.

Alice Guo allegedly used a lookalike to avoid capture, according to NBI agents who questioned her in Indonesia before she was brought back to the Philippines.

On September 5, NBI operatives interrogated Guo while awaiting clearance from Indonesia’s immigration authorities. During the questioning, they asked her about a notarized document, the alleged use of a double, and an NBI clearance issued in her name.

Lito Magno, NBI’s assistant director for investigation, showed Guo a photo of a woman resembling her and asked if it was her. Guo denied it, joking that the woman was a member of her staff and called her a “slimmer version” of herself.

Based on a report from Philstar, an NBI source suggested that Guo may have used lookalikes to mislead the Bureau of Immigration, NBI, and Philippine National Police, allowing her to evade capture during ongoing investigations.

In June, the NBI Dactyloscopy Unit verified that fingerprints on an NBI clearance under the name “Alice Guo” matched those of “Guo Hua Ping,” concluding they were the same person.

Guo was arrested by Indonesian police in Tangerang on September 4 and turned over to Philippine authorities the following day. She returned to the Philippines on September 6 and is now in the custody of the Philippine National Police at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Alice Guo is facing multiple legal charges, including alleged involvement in a raided Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, as well as money laundering, tax evasion, and false information in her candidacy documents. She is also under an arrest order from the Senate for repeatedly missing hearings related to the POGO raid.

Following her arrest, Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Norman Tansingco expressed hope that Guo’s participation in Senate and House hearings would explain how she managed to leave the country. Tansingco added that the ongoing investigations would likely uncover further details about her illegal departure.

At the BI, Guo is also facing deportation charges for undesirability and misrepresentation.
