Lawmakers Ask Cassandra Ong over Ties with Alice Guo, POGO Hub in Porac
CASSANDRA ONG – During a hearing, she claimed that Wesley Guo is her boyfriend and denied having ties with Alice Guo.
A Senate arrest order was previously filed against former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. However, she was not located by the authorities even after reportedly visiting all the registered addresses of the former Mayor.
Worst, former Mayor Alice Guo has departed the Philippines amid several complaints filed against her by the different government agencies. The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed a Php 500,000 tax evasion case against the former Mayor.
The arrest order was issued by the Senate after Guo skipped two (2) Senate hearings conducted to discussed her alleged involvment in the Philippine Offshore Gaming operations in her town.
Alice Guo reportedly went to Malaysia and met with her family in Singapore and then went to Indonesia. Shiela Guo, Alice’s supposed sister, and Cassandra Ong were detained in Indonesia and sent back to the Philippines.
Ong was brought to the House of Representatives while Guo was brought to the Senate. Shiela Guo admitted that she left PH with Alice and Wesley Guo via a “small boat”. She also revealed that Alice is not her biological sister. According to her, she arrived in the Philippines to work in an embroidery business as mandated by her “foster father”.
During the interpellation with the lawmakers, Cassandra Ong denied having ties with dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo. According to her, they are not friends nor business partners and she only knew her as Wesley Guo is her boyfriend.
Cassandra Ong also denied working in the illegal POGO hub raided in Porac, Pampanga. According to her, they only run a real estate business offering rents to companies. She admitted to working for the Whirlwind Corp. which is the alleged firm that leased the property to Lucky South 99.
“I am not related to any POGO,” Ong said.
The authorities have recommended filing charges versus Ong as well as Shiela Guo. Previously, a justice undersecretary claimed that Guo can be a state witness. It was abruptly opposed by DOJ Secretary Boying Remulla who said that Shiela Ong can’t be a state witness.
