Maricel Soriano attends Senate hearing on PDEA Leaks
Diamond Star Maricel Soriano admitted the nervousness that she felt as she attended the Senate hearing on PDEA Leaks.
Maricel’s name was dragged into the issue about the alleged list of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency containing names of personalities involved in drugs.
Early this year, former President Rodrigo Duterte claimed that there was a “narco-list” that is from PDEA, and allegedly President Bongbong Marcos was included in this.
On May 7, the Senate hearing on this issue continued. Maricel Soriano was invited to the hearing because her name was also included in the leaked document containing the names of alleged drug users.
In her statement during the Senate hearing, the veteran actress admitted that she felt nervous and afraid about being there, based on the video posted by DZME News.
She siad that it was Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa who invited her to comment on this issue. Maricel apologized to everyone as she was not used to this kind of setup.
The veteran actress also said that it is her first getting an invitation to attend a Senate hearing. “Nakakakaba at nakakatakot,” she said.
Maricel also admitted that she did not have the full understanding on what was happening and the reason why she was invited to the Senate Hearing.
“Pasensya na po kung nalilito po talaga ako dito,” she said. In spite of this, Maricel said that she has high respect for Senators, especially Sen. Dela Rosa. The actress added that she will do her best in answering questions.
Maricel also asked the Senate to let her legal counsel answer the questions when there is a legal implication.
