In a series of posts, Michael Cinco calls out personalities who refuse to pay Pinoy designers.
Dubai-based fashion designer Michael Cinco expressed in a series of posts his thoughts about people who want free clothes.
Renowned fashion designer Michael Cinco is a Filipino and he based in Dubai. He has made a name in the international scene with many of his creations worn by several Hollywood stars.
Some of his notable clients were Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Carrie Underwood, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Ashanti, Chris Brown, Tyra Banks, Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vergara, and Naomi Campbell.
Cinco gowns were also worn by hosts of Miss Universe PH 2022 during the pageant.
Recently, on his Instagram, he aired his thoughts in a series of posts calling out Filipino celebrities and influencers who want a custom-made design and those who refuse to support Filipino designers.
He shared his thoughts about why would Filipino celebrities and famous influencers splurge on luxury European brands but not on Filipino designers. They spend that much on foreign brands but on our own designers.
“It’s quite ironic how these celebrities proudly wear these designer clothes, but when it comes to Filipino designers, they suddenly want everything custom-made for them for FREE.”
This is accordingly a sad reality that many talented and hardworking Pinoy designers are facing up until now. They pour their hearts and soul into that passion but gets underpaid and undervalued.
In another post, he urged the people to break the cycle and to start “recognizing and supporting our own local talents, including fashion designers” as the local designers have also the potential to create designs that could rival that of the creations of the international brands.
He also dropped some revelations about influencers and starlet asking him to do their wedding dresses for collaboration, all that he could tell them was: “WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE”.
