CCTV footage shared by the Ermita Police Station captured the woman passing through M.H. Del Pilar Street with the baby. Mercado confirmed screenshots from another CCTV showing her child with the woman who even entered a convenience store to buy biscuits for the baby.

She left her baby with her father as she needed to work. Around 2:30 p.m., her child went missing, confirmed when she returned home. Although she hadn’t spoken to her husband yet, witnesses saw him at a park in Ermita with the baby.

The woman, fearing consequences, reportedly escaped to a province near Metro Manila. The Ermita Police Station assured Mercado they would prioritize the case to recover the baby.
