Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Surigao del Norte, November 3, 2023
EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.6 magnitude quake in Surigao del Norte today, Friday, November 3, 2023.
Following the 4.5 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Norte a few days ago, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Surigao del Norte today. It had a magnitude of 4.6.
The earthquake today that struck Surigao del Norte, Friday, November 3, 2023, at 01:12 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Burgos.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Surigao del Norte was located at 10.18°North, 126.21°East – 023 km North 38° East of Burgos. It had a depth of focus of 017 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. Instrumental Intensity I was recorded in Surigao City, Surigao del Norte.
