Man Shot by Neighbor in Iloilo City Over Unpaid Debt Dispute

A man lost his life after being shot by his neighbor in Molo, Iloilo City, during a dispute over an unpaid debt.

Armando Samson, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting incident occurred in Barangay Boulevard, reportedly triggered by an unresolved debt issue between Samson and the alleged gunman, identified as Nonoy Catalan.

An unpaid debt of P1,000 sparked the first altercation. Samson and Catalan had an argument which resulted in a violent confrontation that cost Samson his life.

Molo Police’s investigation shed light on the events leading up to the intense confrontation. The victim allegedly attempted to assault the suspect with a knife, resulting in a physical confrontation in which the suspect’s bicycle accidentally hit Samson.

As a result, the suspect fled the area to get a pistol before attacking Samson again, which resulted in fatal gunfire.

However, relatives of the victim have come forward with claims that the suspect had a history of resorting to violence, brandishing his firearm in disputes involving unpaid debts. Despite these allegations, the local barangay reported that no formal complaints had been filed prior to this incident.
