Jelai Andres Joins Viral ‘Lato-lato’ Challenge
JELAI ANDRES – GMA-7 actress and vlogger Jelai Andres shared a video showing her playing “lato-lato.”
Lato-Lato became popular once more in the Philippines. There were also Lato-Lato competitions conducted in different parts of the country.
Lato-Lato, contrary to popular perception, did not originate in the Philippines. It originates in the United States and is known as clackers or Newton’s Yoyo. Lato-Lato’s early design was made of tempered glass, which made it potentially dangerous because it may shatter. Clackers were taken from the market due to safety concerns.
The current Lato-Lato, on the other hand, is composed of plastic. Lato-Lato is not simply a toy, but it is also utilized for educational reasons, particularly physics.
Last month, Andrea Brillantes showed a bruise on her right arm due to playing the trendy lato-lato challenge. Among the celebrities who play lato-lato are Moira dela Torre and Angeline Quinto.

Jelai Andres is the latest celeb to join the viral ‘lato-lato’ challenge online. On her Instagram account, she uploaded a video of herself doing the said challenge inside her house.
In the caption, the Kapuso actress-vlogger even jokingly challenged that she can fight the children outside. She added that she is the one who will come for the lato-lato match. While playing, it seems like playing lato-lato is easy for her. Jelai’s companion can be heard laughing in the video.
In the caption of the post, she wrote: “Ipanlaban niyo na ko sa mga bata sa labas ng bahay niyo! Ako pa dadayo!”
