Female Ex-Drug User Convict from North Cotabato Graduates High School with Honors
A 27-year-old female ex-drug user convict from North Cotabato finally graduates from high school with honors.
Meet Honeylene Alindajao, a former drug addict who has now completed her education with honors. Honeylene, a 27-year-old Makilala, North Cotabato inhabitant, considers her time in prison a “blessing.”
Based on her Facebook post, she claims it paved the door for her to change her life and make better judgments. Alindajao used to be unconcerned about her two underage children, ages 6 and 9 because she was addicted to drugs and alcohol.
According to her lengthy post written in her local language, she confesses that her live-in partner at the time, as well as her friends, had a bad influence on her. On June 20, 2020, she was arrested and jailed on drug-selling and possession charges.
During her stay in prison, Alindajao understood that there is always hope as long as there is life. She began to seek solace in her faith and sought instruction from the Lord. She was detained at the Makilala Police Station for two months before being given the opportunity to make a plea bargain.
She decided to improve her life while on probation for the sake of her children. Alindajao is a senior high school student at Colegio De Maharlika. Her hard work paid off, and she graduated from the Humanities and Social Sciences program on June 21, 2023.
She was also honored and finished fourth in her class. Alindajao aspires to be a chef and intends to extend her education by enrolling in a culinary or Hotel and Restaurant Management program.
