Maine Mendoza Speaks About Other EB Hosts’ Decision To Leave

This is what Maine Mendoza said about the issues and controversies in “Eat Bulaga”.

MAINE MENDOZA – When TVJ left TAPE, the other hosts followed, and recently, Maine Mendoza speaks about this.

In a previous article, GMA expressed sadness about the “unexpected turn of events” as Eat Bulaga has been the show’s home for many years. The network and TAPE still have until the end of 2024 for the noontime slot, but the departure of TVJ surely made great changes.

TVJ is the trio of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon. They are considered the pillars of the noontime show. They are also the ones who started the show in 1979. They are among the pioneer hosts.

But EB is not only a show. It is a family and when one backed out, the other followed. Right after TVJ made the big announcement, their co-hosts also resigned.

Last June 5, EB continued to air with a new set of hosts composed of Paolo Contis, Legaspi twins Cassy and Mavy, Betong Sumaya, Buboy Villar, and Alexa Miro.

Recently, TVJ announced that they have found a new home in TV5 and they are taking the “legit hosts” of EB with them in their new home. Amid the loud buzz it created online, Maine Mendoza, among the hosts who resigned, clarified that they were not forced to do it.

To resign was accordingly their own decision. They were not told to do it.

“Kung saan sila, doon talaga kami,” she firmly said and added, “They didn’t even talk to us about it.”
