Lani Mercado shared her thoughts on Bong Revilla’s new sitcom
Actress-politician Lani Mercado was the one who personally chose Kapuso actress Beauty Gonzalez to be the leading lady of actor-politician Bong Revilla in the sitcom Walang Matigas Na Pulis Sa Matinik Na Misis.
Lani was Bong’s leading lady in the 1994 movie of the same and the sequel Yes Darling: Walang Matigas Na Pulis… 2 which was released in 1997.
The Kapuso sitcom will also feature Max Collins as the “other woman.” With this, Beauty and Max will have a “paseksihan” showdown.
Based on the article in PEP, Bong Revilla shared that since Beauty Gonzalez and Max Collins will showcase their figure, they only had “one meal a day” or OMAD. The actor-politician also shared that he convinced Lani Mercado to guest on the sitcom and do the OMAD also.
The actress-politician said, “Sinabi nga ni Senator, ang secret daw nila, e, One Meal A Day. ‘Mama, kaya mo ba?’ ‘Ay hindi! Iinit ang ulo ko sa One Meal A Day!’” Bong added that Beauty and Max looked like they haven’t given birth at all.
It was Lani who really handpicked Beauty to be the Bisaya wife of Bong’s character Tolome. “Kasi sinabi ko kasi, ‘Alam mo, iba ang touch pag Bisaya.’ Meron kasi kaming mga friends. Hindi na ako magne-name names. Naa-amaze ako pag nakikita ko yung babaeng Bisayang asawa, nag-aano na, nagtatatalak na,” she explained.
The actress-politician also said that she is amused by how Bisaya wives would express what they want. Because of this, she said that it would be great that Bong’s onscreen partner in the sitcom will be Bisaya.
Lani Mercado also said that there are a lot of Bisaya viewers who can relate to this. She even encouraged them to suggest ideas to her husband for the sitcom.
