Arjo Atayde talked about his role in his new series
Actor-politician Arjo Atayde shared his thoughts on recreating the role of seasoned actor Aga Muhlach in the 1996 action-thriller Sa Aking Mga Kamay for the spin-off sequel series Cattleya Killer.
Although Arjo was elected as congressman in the first district of Quezon City, he still continues doing showbiz engagement and he is able to juggle his time as a public servant and as an actor. Despite his busy schedule, he still finds time for his love life.
He and his fiancée Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza are currently preparing for their wedding. The couple refused to divulge details of their wedding but the actor said that this will definitely happen this year.
Maine was also one of the celebrities who attended the premiere night of Cattleya Killer at theTriNoma last May 12 and this received positive feedback from the viewers. Previously, Arjo Atayde’s mother seasoned actress Sylvia Sanchez even told her future daughter-in-law “magaling ang mapapangasawa mo.”
In the series, Arjo plays the character of Anton de la Rosa which was previously played by Aga Muhlach, based on the article in The Philippine Star. Veteran actor Christopher de Leon reprises his role as Anton’s father.
Arjo knows that he can’t completely relive how Aga portrayed the character. On the other hand, he said that he talked to the seasoned actor about this role.
“I can’t renew what he did. He’s one of the most brilliant actors… to be honest, he’s one of my favorites. We can only do as much as we can. Nagpaalam naman kami. May timbre ito kay Tito Aga and he’s happy about it,” Arjo Atayde shared.
Cattleya Killer is set to premiere on June 1 on Prime Video in Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other selected territories.
