Ogie Diaz talked about Liza Soberano’s recent podcast interview

Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz reacted to the controversial podcast interview of actress Liza Soberano in which she mentioned the loveteam culture in the Philippine entertainment industry.

Liza once again went viral just recently. It is because of her statement about loveteams in the Philippines. She was the other half of the LizQuen loveteam for many years and this is one of the reasons why she wanted to change her career path.

In the podcast interview, Liza said that fans are expecting the loveteam partners are also real-life couples and that they should not be seen dating other people. She also said that the only way to reach stardom in the Philippines, if you are an actor, is through a love team.

In a recent Showbiz Update vlog that Ogie Diaz released, who is the former talent manager of Liza Soberano, reacted to the controversial statement of the actress. He stressed that even though a celebrity is in a loveteam, still he or she can still do a solo project.

Ogie shared that there was an offer to Liza before and it is with a different leading man but she refused to do the project as she said that she is not comfortable if Enrique Gil is not her leading man. “Ang comfort zone ko po ay si Quen,” Ogie shared what Liza said at that time.

When Ogie’s co-host Mrena asked why Liza had no slightest mention of her boyfriend Enrique, who is also her loveteam partner for a long time, during the podcast, the talent manager-vlogger said that perhaps it is the actress’s decision not to say anything about this as part of her career move.

Ogie also said that he understands why Liza opened up about the loveteam culture in the Philippines. For him, it is because the actress experienced it and she is just relating what happened to her.

Mama Loi commented that it was just saddening that the image of Philippine showbiz may appear to be daunting for other nationalities because of what Liza said in the interview.

Before ending the topic about Liza Soberano, Ogie Diaz and his co-hosts congratulated the actress for being included in Town & Country magazine’s “Brightest New Stars.”
