Based on the report, Rhadie Reynald Perez Caccam, who works at ODSI Assured System and Services Corp, the country’s original distributor of the RELX product, went to the DSOU office on April 13 and alerted the unfair trade competition of the illegal sale of imitation vape.

As a result, DSOU made a test buy with Caccam and a confidential informant on April 14 at night and purchased RELX for P44,300. The buy-bust was carried out as part of an ongoing surveillance operation on April 19 at about 5 p.m., when the suspect was apprehended. Several phony RELX vape items worth P130,000 were confiscated from Go.

The suspect is in jail, facing accusations under Republic Act No. 8293, or the Philippine Intellectual Property Code. Torre, on the other hand, cautioned the people not to do anything negative because the QCPD police are still working hard to eradicate all forms of criminality in the city.
