DepEd-Davao Probes Kindergarten Teacher For Tearing Pupil’s Activity Paper
DepEd-Davao is investigating the Kindergarten teacher who allegedly tore up a pupil’s activity paper.
The Department of Education-Davao Region (DepEd-Davao) is now investigating a Kindergarten teacher who allegedly tore up a student’s activity paper out of rage over the kid’s behavior. The investigation is being carried out to ensure that due process is followed, according to DepEd-Davao spokesperson Jenelito “Dodong” Atillo.
The incident came to light when the student’s mother named Joyjoy Alvarado posted about it on her Facebook account earlier this week. The frustrated woman, who has requested to remain anonymous, expressed her disappointment with how her child was disciplined by the teacher.
The incident took place at a school in Barangay Lacson, Calinan District, Davao City.
According to Alvarado, her son arrived home from school in tears and narrated the incident to her. She immediately contacted the teacher through chat, but the teacher defended the action, stating that it was her way of disciplining the talkative child during class.
However, the mother expressed dissatisfaction with the teacher’s method and described it as ‘unacceptable’.
“Natural kinder pa lang ng bta Dili Pana perfect naay time nGa mogahi Ang ulo, unya anaon Ing..??? kung gision MN lang Ang papel maypang wla nlng gipsulat pra hago Ang Bata,?” Alvarado reiterated.
DepEd-Davao is now investigating the matter thoroughly to ensure that the incident is addressed appropriately and in accordance with established protocols.
