Growing up, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Vanessa did not have the chance to see more Filipino acts. The only Pinoy artist she was able to watch back then was Lea Salonga.

Vanessa Hudgens was inspired by the Broadway star to pursue singing. “She is honestly a big reason of like, why I sing and how I sing even. But she really, really inspired me to move forward and to keep on at my dream,” the Hollywood star said.

Diversity, inclusion, and representation are three of the things that Vanessa values. She said that it is a good thing that she has people she looks up to influence positive change in her.

It’s about seeing people who look like you so that you can be inspired to pursue something that you never thought would be possible otherwise,” she said.

Vanessa Hudgens was recognized as the Philippines’ Global Tourism Ambassador on March 31. However, there were Pinoy netizens who expressed that K-Pop star Sandara Park is more deserving to receive this recognition.

Fans of Sandara pointed out that she is more Filipino than Vanessa because the South Korean celebrity knows the Philippines like the back of her hand.
