This is the most memorable project for Gerald Anderson
Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson said that he is proud of his titular role “Budoy” in the 2011 series which ran until early 2012.
From being a housemate in the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother, Gerald has come a long way. He became one of the sought-after leading men of his generation. Throughout the years, his career flourished and he has done various TV and movie projects.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PUSH, the actor said that he wants his works to still be relevant even after years have passed.
Gerald Anderson said that he doing his best, giving his 100 percent in whatever he does because he wants that later on, his projects will become his legacy. “I’ve been very blessed na maganda ‘yung mga projects na ipinagkatiwala sa akin. Gusto ko 10 years from now kapag pinanood ‘yung mga proyekto ay relevant at quality pa rin,” the actor said.
He added that the projects that ABS-CBN has entrusted him with are major boosts to his career and with this, he is thankful that his home network has always been there for him no matter the ups and downs he encountered.
When asked about the project that made him so proud, the actor mentioned “Budoy.” In the said series, he portrayed the character of an adult with special needs.
“Isa sa pinaka-importante sa career ko was nung ginampanan ko si Budoy kasi it was the first time na ang bida ay isang special child. So it was tinatackle namin ‘yung kung paano mag-alaga ng special child, paano siya nagi-interact with the world, with different characters,” he said.
Thinking about the help and inspiration that the series gave to families and parents with special children overwhelms him.
Aside from “Budoy,” he is also proud of the series A Soldier’s Heart. He said that soldiers are close to his heart. Through this project, he was able to highlight the struggles and sacrifices of Filipino soldiers.
