Raquel Pempengco to Bashers: “Thanks at trending ako ngayon”

Raquel Pempengco Reacts to Bashers After Remarks Against David Foster’s Concert

RAQUEL PEMPENGCO – The mother of transman Jake Zyrus reacts to bashers after being criticized following her statement on David Foster’s concert.

Raquel recently went popular on social media and elicited emotions from the internet community after commenting on Canadian singer-songwriter David Foster’s show. Raquel lashes out during the performance of Filipina singer Morissette Amon.

Raquel compared Morissette’s performance of a deep song to that of her son, Charice Pempengco. Raquel believes that no one can ever replace “the legendary” Charice because there is only one Charice.

She stated that she is aware of the timbre of voice that the composer seeks and that she has been telling him since the beginning that Charice’s voice is unique. In reaction to criticisms labeling her “bitter” and an “ampalaya,” Raquel stated that they were merely “comparing the past and the present” renditions.

“No hate and discrimination. [Their] opinions and comments are [based] on what they hear and watch… Anyway… Thanks to all my BASHERS at trending ako ngayon…” she wrote in a Facebook post on March 29.

Raquel also shared a video that another Facebook user had posted. Morissette’s recent performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing” was paired with Jake’s in the video.

“Hinde ako gumawa nito ha… share ko lang… See all the comments there… baka sabihin ako lang ang bitter at ‘di [maka] move on,” the matriarch wrote.

“‘I Have Nothing’ with David Foster, sino ang mas best para sa’yo! (MORISSETTE X CHARICE),” the caption of the video said.
