Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Cagayan, March 29, 2023
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.3 magnitude quake in Cagayan today, Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
Following the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted a part of Davao Occidental a few weeks ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Cagayan. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.3.
The earthquake that struck Cagayan, today, Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 08:28 a.m. was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Dalupiri Island in Calayan.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Cagayan was located at 19.15°North, 121.23°East – 006 km North 28° East of Dalupiri Island with a depth of focus of 015 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. No intensity as well as instrumental intensity was recorded by the quake-monitoring agency as per its release.
