Bong Revilla Reveals He Had Surgery To Remove Gallbladder
BONG REVILLA – Sen. Bong Revilla revealed he had surgery to remove his gallbladder and gallstones.
Senator Bong Revilla’s blood pressure spiked last week. He was immediately taken to the hospital.
On Monday, the actor-turned-politician was rushed to the hospital after experiencing terrible stomach pains. According to his wife Rep. Lani Mercado-Revilla, his doctors decided to perform the treatment after learning that he had gallstones after conducting several testing.
Bong Revilla underwent surgery to have his gallbladder and gallstones removed. In a Facebook live on Wednesday, he said that on Monday around 4:30 a.m., he was admitted to St. Luke’s Medical Center. He underwent surgery on Tuesday and will be discharged from the hospital on Wednesday.
“Wala na ‘yung aking gallbladder. ‘Yun ang cause ng aking pain,” he said.
In a separate Facebook live on Tuesday, Bong Revilla’s wife, Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado-Revilla, said that testing revealed her husband’s gallbladder was inflamed.
“After undergoing several tests, nalaman ho namin na meron pala siyang gallbladder stones. Ito po ‘yung bato sa apdo at namamaga na po ‘yung apdo niya,” she said.
The actor-turned-politician admitted that his craving for chicharon bulaklak apparently contributed to his health problem. “Alam ninyo ano kinain ko na nag-cause ng gallbladder removal? ‘Yung chicharon bulaklak. Oily food,” he said.
Bong Revilla was optimistic about his recovery despite the most recent medical procedure. He even anticipates starting up his fitness routine again, especially boxing. He also expressed his gratitude to the medical professionals who took care of him in the hospital.
“I’m okay now. Sabi ng doctor, ‘yung function ng gallbladder kaya na rin i-shoulder ng liver…”
“You won’t believe it — nakakatayo agad. Ito maayos, parang wala lang. Magulat ka, nagsha-shadow boxing na ako,” he added.
