PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Friday (March 24, 2023)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that generally fair weather condition is expected over most parts of the country.

On Friday (March 24, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will affect country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the ridge of High Pressure Area is extending over Northern Luzon. The easterlies will bring hot and humid weather to Luzon with isolated rain showers in several areas.

“Ang easterlies and the ridge of high pressure area ay madadala din po ng mainit at maalinsangan na tanghali,” Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

The Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Abra, Benguet, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, and Aurora.

Similar weather condition is expected over Visayas, Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands; and Occidental Mindoro.

“Dahil sa high pressure area, asahan ang maaliwalas na panahon sa bahagi ng Northern Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera [Administrative] Region and Cagayan Valley. Dito po sa Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, kabilang na ang Metro Manila, asahan naman ang epekto ng easterlies ito po ay magdadala ng ulan as early as this morning,” Estareja added.

The weather agency warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
