Alessandra de Rossi and Empoy Marquez has a reunion movie
Actress Alessandra de Rossi shared the difficult part in doing Walang KaParis, her second movie with actor-comedian Empoy Marquez.
Alessandra and Empoy’s first movie project was Kita Kita in 2017. It was a big hit and their onscreen chemistry surprised many moviegoers. Because of that success, they are now tagged as the AlEmpoy tandem.
Through that project, a unique friendship was formed between them. The actress said in an interview, based on the article in Inquirer, this movie project is a sort of reunion with people she worked with in 2017.
“I was happy for the chance to travel with them again, from Japan to Paris, which was like my next travel destination with friends. I felt safe with them because I’ve known them for a long time,” Alessandra de Rossi said.
This is indeed an amazing opportunity for them as a team and as creative people as well. However, doing a movie in Paris was not that easy. The actress shared that they shot this amid the pandemic lockdown in 2021.
She said that filming a movie abroad could feature good outdoor scenes in which people would be seen walking on the streets in the background but since it was amid the pandemic, people were wearing masks and they could not be seen on camera like that.
However, that supposed difficult part worked to their advantage.“When I saw the movie, it was just the two of us there walking, and it looked out of this world. It’s not so bad. The isolation worked to the film’s benefit,” the actress shared.
Then, the actress said that they already shot some scenes in Baguio while they were unvaccinated but they had to be vaccinated before flying to Paris. “I thought, ‘This wasn’t part of the deal. This is unfair.’ But we can’t stop working on the film just because some of us don’t want to get vaccinated,” she said.
