Kiray Celis has this reason why she chose to transfer to the Kapuso network
Kapuso actress Kiray Celis recalled her decision to transfer to GMA in 2018 from her former home network ABS-CBN.
Kiray started her career as a child star in the Kapamilya network. Within her 19 years as a Kapamilya, she has already done a lot of TV and movie projects. However, five years ago, she came up with the decision to be a Kapuso.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Kiray opened up that back in 2018, she thought she was still busy with her showbiz engagements. However, the actress said that her parents noticed that her projects lessened.
Then, Kiray Celis realized that she was only busy doing movies and she had no TV shows already. Back then, she also received an offer from GMA. “So, sabi ni Mama, merong in-offer sa amin yung GMA na show. Sabi niya, ‘Tara, lipat ka na rin,'” the actress shared.
Kiray admitted that at first, she was hesitant because ABS-CBN has been her comfort zone for almost two decades. She was also thinking that she does not know anyone from the Kapuso network, although she had some friends in GMA.
“Pero paano? Parang bagong bahay, e. Parang magsisimula ulit ako from the start. Magiging zero ako ulit,” she said.
The actress also shared that when she was starting her career in showbiz, she aimed to be famous. However, her priority changed as she only wanted to provide for her family with the talent fee she gets.
This is the reason why she was not picky when it comes to projects being offered to her. “Yung basa-basa ng script, ‘Babasahin ko muna bago ko tanggapin,’ hindi kami nagbabasa. Basta, go! Basta may work, ganun talaga, as in,” she added.
