Venus Raj showed that not giving up will bring you to your dreams
Miss Universe 2010 4th runner-up Venus Raj has this advice to pageant repeaters who chose not to give up on their dreams.
Many beauty pageant fans love the story of Venus. From living a simple life in Camarines Norte, she strived to study hard and joined local pageants in their area. From a young age, she somehow manifested the path that she will take when she gets older.
In 2010, Venus started her journey to reaching her dreams. She joined Binibining Pilipinas and was hailed as the winner to represent the country in the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.
Ending up as the 4th runner-up, pageant fans tagged her as the initiator of the Philippines’ placement streak in Miss Universe. For 12 years, the streak continued until the 71st edition.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Venus Raj stressed that there is nothing wrong with joining pageants again and again. “If you’re a beauty queen and you are joining again maybe for the 2nd time or the 3rd time or the 4th time, that’s amazing. I really want to encourage you to try it again,” she said.
For her, this is the beauty queen aspirant’s story of perseverance. By joining a pageant again, a repeater can assess what was lacking in what she did in the previous pageant.
“Whatever pageant that would be, hope that you learn from previous experiences and you take that to be able to improve now. But don’t give up. Alam natin na my dreams tayo in life. So don’t give up on your dreams,” she said.
Venus Raj also said that hopefully when a pageant aspirant would look back, there will be no regrets that she did not join again when there was still a chance.
