Ryza Cenon talked about the roles she prefers to do
Actress Ryza Cenon reveals the reason why she prefers doing “kontrabida” or antagonist roles.
Ryza has done quite a lot of antagonist roles but she also showcased her other side as an actress by doing protagonist roles. For her new projects, the TV5 series Kurdapya featuring Yassi Pressman, Ryza once again plays a “kontrabida.”
Ryza gives life to the character of Margie, the gold-digging girlfriend of the character of Lander vera Perez, based on the article in Bandera.
As she is the lover of the father of Yassi’s character, Ryza will showcase her “kontrabida” prowess to the lead actress. In an interview, the former Kapuso actress said that she wants to do more antagonist roles.
“Mas nag-e-enjoy ako sa pagiging kontrabida because mas nalalaro ko po siya. Puwede na rin naming maging bida ang kontrabida, eh,” she said.
Ryza Cenon said that there are instances that a “kontabida” also has a “paawa” scene but she said that the majority of the time, a “bida” is just concentrated on “paawa. “Pero ang kontrabida, halo-halo po na emosyon,” the actress added.
In this new series on the Kapatid network, doing comedy also gives Ryza a challenge. She said that it is her first time doing comedy and since this is new to her, it is a challenging stint.
She said that everyone knows that comedy is all about timing. Ryza is already anticipating that there will be two reactions to this side of her, whether people will laugh or will find her acting corny.
Ryza Cenon also shared that she wants to have variation in what she does. Although he has already done “kontrabia” roles in the past, Kurdapya is different since it has the element of comedy.
