PAGASA Says LPA and Amihan to Bring Rains Over Parts of the Country

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring rains over some parts of the country.

On Wednesday (March 15, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and a low-pressure area will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that a low-pressure area has been spotted 265 kilometers east northeast of Davao City. It will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas and Mindanao.

“Possibly na ngayon or bukas tuluyan na malulusaw [itong LPA] kaya maliit ang tiyansa na ito ay maging bagyo ganoon pa man inaasahan natin ito ay magdadala ng mga pag-ulan particular sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao at inaasahan natin bukas may pag-ulan sa Central at Eastern Visayas,” weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

Amihan will bring similar weather condition over Cagayan Valley.

The LPA/Localized Thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains over Palawan, including the Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

“Samantala sa silangang bahagi ng Luzon kung saan nakakaapekto pa rin ang northeast monsoon inaasahan mga isolated o pulo-pulong pagulan ang ating mararanasan,” Badrina added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will be moderate to rough. The remaining parts of the country will be slight to moderate.
