Liza Soberano Breaks Silence on “Commission” Issue w/ Ogie Diaz

LIZA SOBERANO – The actress revealed the commission of Ogie Diaz and her other manager before and the share that her current management gets from her earnings.

One of the most popular young showbiz stars in the Philippines is actress Liza Soberano. She was under the ABS-CBN network but is now venturing and taking chances on a showbiz career in Hollywood.

Under the Kapamilya network, Liza was known as managed by comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz. During the part two of her interview with Boy Abunda which was aired as part of GMA-7’s Fast Talk, the actress revealed that she is co-managed by Ogie, the cousin of her father, and Star Magic, the talent management arm of the Kapamilya network.

Amid several issues surrounding the career of Liza Soberano now, there are rumors and speculations surrounding the “commission” that Ogie Diaz gets from her when he was her manager. Boy Abunda raised the contradicting rumors about the commission of her former talent manager.

Liza initially admitted that she does not want to talk about commissions citing that it is a private financial matter. Meanwhile, she explained and answered questions.

During the interview, Liza Soberano revealed that Ogie Diaz initially gets 12% as manager’s commission. When she was 17 years old, the rate increased to 30% and the cousin of her father gets 20% and Star Magic was getting 10%. According to her, she is paying taxes both in the United States as well as in the Philippines because she is a Filipino-American citizen.

Liza further expressed that it came to a point when Ogie and the cousin of her father decided to reduce their commissions to 20% and 15%, respectively. She clarified that Star Magic gets 10% but the talent management company does not get money coming from ABS-CBN projects.

During the interview, when asked about the commission of her current management company, Careless which is owned by fellow celebrity James Reid, the actress revealed that it was 20%.
