She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, but she died shortly after due to a heart attack, as confirmed by medical professionals.

Hetal’s family was clearly distressed over her untimely death, but relatives recommended an alternate plan to continue the wedding festivities because everything had already been planned including decorations and visitors.

However, a wedding wouldn’t be completed without a bride, so the relatives created a new plan to have Hetal’s younger sister marry Vishal. Hetal’s body was believed to have been held in cold storage until the end of the ceremony as the wedding ceremonies resumed.

Laxmanbhai Rathore, City Corporator and Maldhari Samaj leader, expressed his grief over the situation, saying that the family succumbed to societal pressure from “members of society” who encouraged them not to send the groom and his family home empty-handed.

The untimely death of a bride during her wedding ceremony has shook the public. While some have questioned the family’s decision to substitute the bride’s younger sister, others have defended it as a sensible alternative.
