Bembol Roco Admits Being “Salbahe” to His Parents When He Was Young
Award-winning veteran actor Bembol Roco admitted being “salbahe” to his parents when he was at a young age.
The veteran actor was interviewed by members of the entertainment press during the cast reveal-presscon of the film “Pieta,” starring Superstar Nora Aunor, Alfred Vargas, Gina Alajar, Ina Raymundo, and Jaclyn Jose. The actor was questioned if he ever cried as a father.
“Oo naman. For many reasons and for many times. Pero masasabi kong hindi ako nagkulang,” he shred.
He also answered the question if he believes in the saying, “kung ano ang ginawa mo sa magulang mo, gagawin din sa iyo ng anak mo?” This is where he admitted that he is a stubborn child to his parents when he was young.
“Sensitibo sa akin ang tanong na iyan, e. Salbahe akong bata. Salbahe ako sa mga magulang ko nu’ng kabataan ko. Sobrang pahirap ang ibinigay ko sa kanila, at alam ko yun. At nasabi ko sa kanila yun at nakahingi ako ng patawad sa lahat ng mga karantaduhang ginawa ko,” he said.
“Hindi totoo yung kung ano ang ginawa ko sa magulang ko, gagawin ng mga anak ko sa akin. Hindi ginawa ng mga anak ko! Malayo sa mga katarantaduhang ginawa ko noong kabataan ko. So para sa akin, hindi totoo yun,” Bembol added.
He was, however, given the opportunity to apologize to his parents, particularly his mother. He revealed that he returned to her in 2006, just as her Alzheimer’s disease was beginning.
“At hanggang huling hininga niya, nandu’n ako sa tabi niya. Kinausap ko silang personal, di ba? Sinabi ko na hindi totoo yung mga paratang ko nu’ng kabataan na hindi ako mahal, etcetera, et cetera. Humihingi ako ng paumanhin sa lahat ng mga masasamang ginawa ko. Dahil alam kong talagang naghirap sila sa akin,” Bembol shared in the interview.
