Aga Muhlach will be part of the third installment of Darryl Yap’s Marcos trilogy
Seasoned actor Aga Muhlach is set to portray the character of President Bongbong Marcos in the movie Mabuhay Aloha Mabuhay.
The first installment in director Darryl Yap’s trilogy, Maid in Malacanang, was released in August 2022. This tackled the last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace. The second installment, Martyr or Murderer, will officially be released in cinemas on March 1, 2023.
Its premiere night happened on February 27. Bandera entertainment columnist Ervin Santiago shared in his recent article that Direk Darryl was able to achieve his objective regarding the moviegoers’ emotions after watching the film.
In a Facebook post, the director shared his answer to a reporter who asked what he wanted the moviegoers will feel after watching MoM.
“Gusto kong maging malungkot sila, yung malungkot na parang hindi nila maintindihan saan galing—yung humanga sila sa pelikula pero nahiya sila sa kanilang sarili. Gusto kong makaramdam ang manonood ng hindi nila maipaliwanag, ng hindi nila maintindihan, na parang may mali—dahil malubha silang natamaan,” Direk Darryl shared.
With this, the columnist said that entertainment media and vloggers who attended the premiere night of the movie almost had the same reaction after watching the film and it is “Grabe! Naiyak ako! Pasabog ang ending!”
Santiago also teased that if people who watched MiM were shocked by the revelations, there will be more to be revealed in MoM. The columnist added that they will not reveal the ending in the second installment that will connect to the third installment.
During the premiere night, Santiago revealed that people shouted and clapped so loud when the face of Aga Muhlach was flashed on the big screen. The award-winning actor will portray PBBM in the third installment of Direk Darryl’s Marcos trilogy.
