Juliana Gomez got another achievement in fencing
Actor-politician Richard Gomez has this reaction to the recent sports achievement of his daughter Juliana Gomez as the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) champion for epee fencing.
Late last year, Juliana won the Thailand Open Fencing Championship. After that, she joined the West Java fencing challenge in Indonesia and once again she won the gold. Achieving these triumphs in sports, her father is indeed proud.
During Richard’s prime years in sports, he was a national fencer. Now, his daughter is the one bringing home the recognition. With what his daughter has achieved and continues to pursue, Richard is indeed proud.
In his recent Instagram post, the actor-politician shared a short video of the winning moment of Juliana Gomez. “I am so proud of you @gomezjuliana! You are now uaap champion!!! Hard work and understanding of the game has set in. I love you ‘day!” the proud father wrote in the caption of his post.
Several celebrities congratulated Juliana Gomez. Many netizens also lauded Juliana’s skill in this sport.
A week before the UAAP, Juliana shared a throwback photo. It was taken when she was just a young girl. A butterfly was painted on her face. “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee,” she wrote in the caption of her post and used the hashtag “UAAP 85.” It is a quote from the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali.
In the comment section of the post, Juliana’s mom, Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres commented with “HAHAHAHA.” The fencer replied, “I have a feeling you did this to me.” The celebrity-politician replied, “Indeed.”
