Dennis Trillo bids goodbye to his Simoun character
Simoun, the character played by Kapuso drama king Dennis Trillo, died in Maria Clara at Ibarra series on the day Jose Rizal finished his novel Noli Me Tangere.
Dennis gave life to the character of Crisostomo Ibarra in the Kapuso historical portal fantasy series, who later on became Simoun. On February 21, the episode in which Simoun dies was aired. This is also the day when Rizal finished his first novel.
Noli Me Tangere was finished on February 21, 1887, and it was published a month after that, based on GMA Network.
In a recent Instagram post shared by Dennis Trillo, he shared the last taping day that he had for Maria Clara at Ibarra and it featured Simoun’s death. The actor became a trending topic on Twitter due to this episode.
“Nais kong ibahagi ang mga kaganapan sa pagtatapos ng aking huling eksena, sa maituturing kong isa sa pinaka makabuluhan at importanteng proyektong kinabilangan ko,” the actor said.
He also thanked everyone who made an effort to make this project a remarkable one. Dennis also showed appreciation to avid viewers of the series who made it successful.
“Salamat sa iyo, na minahal at nag laan ng oras para panoorin ang palabas, tenkyu [person with folded hands emoji, white heart emoji] mahal ko kayo, hanggang sa muli [face holding tears emoji],” the actor added.
Dennis’s co-stars Julie Anne San Jose and Rocco Nacino lauded him. “Salud,” Julie Anne who plays Maria Clara commented while Rocco wrote, “Napakagaling brother! Honor to always work with you! Congrats bro @dennistrillo.”
Juancho Trivino who played Padre Salvi congratulated Dennis and David Licauso who played Fidel commented with a red heart emoji.
