Man who Blackmail His Ex-Girlfriend Hoping to Reconcile Arrested

Police authorities arrested a man who allegedly blackmail his ex-girlfriend as he is hoping they will reconcile again.

Police in Caloocan City arrested a guy for reportedly attempting to blackmail his ex-girlfriend in order to mend their relationship. According to the complaint, the man allegedly threatened the woman with publishing her intimate films on the internet.

Blackmail Ex-Girlfriend

Christian Ancheta, 31, of Bagbaguin, Caloocan City, was identified as the suspect by the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS). Cpt Santiago Roy, chief of the Northern District Anti-Cybercrime Team (NDACT), said the victim, Lourdes, 42, was the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.

According to the report, Lourdes sought their assistance after Ancheta threatened her with releasing intimate videos of her to her family and friends on Facebook if she did not meet with him to discuss their relationship. As a result, the authorities set up an entrapment scheme against the suspect.

When the victim agreed to his request, members of the NDACT and CCPS detained Ancheta in an entrapment operation around 5 p.m. near the corner of 8th and 9th Avenues, Grace Park, Barangay 103 in the city. The suspect’s cellphone, driver’s license, police clearance identification card, sim card, and P400 cash were all seized.

According to the police, the suspect will be charged with violating Republic Act (RA) 9995 (Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act), RA 9262 (Anti-violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), and Revised Penal Code Articles 282 (Grave Threat) and 286 (Grave Coercion) in relation to RA 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012).
