Coco Martin Received P2K Only For Indie Film: ‘Ako bida sa buong pelikula’

Coco Martin shared his humble beginning in the entertainment industry

Kapamilya actor Coco Martin revealed that he only received P2000 as a talent fee for his stints in indie films and he was the lead actor in the said project.

The entertainment industry is a good source of income as success is equal to financial stability. There were some who aspired to be part of the entertainment industry because of their passion while there are some who needed this mainly as their bread and butter.

Coco tried his luck in showbiz years ago. Just like many, he did “extra” roles and he admitted that starting a career in the industry was not easy for him. In a recent media conference for his upcoming Batang Quiapo series, based on the article in Bandera, the actor received praise from veteran stars Cherry Pie Picache and Pen Medina for his kind heart in helping other artists.

Coco Martin said that he is just returning the favor because he knew how difficult it was to face hardships in the industry, especially when he was just starting.

Hindi man totally pag-aartista ang pangarap ko, ang hirap nung oportunidad,” he shared.

Then, he revealed that he started also with a small talent fee. Even though he was the lead actor in his first indie film, he only got a small amount compared to other lead stars in a project.

Naranasan ko dati kahit nag-eextra ka na, ngayon meron, six months wala. Nu’ng nag-iindie films ako naranasan ko P2,000 lang ‘yung binayad sa ‘kin, ako bida sa buong pelikula. Kumbaga talagang gapang,” he shared. Currently, Coco Martin is one of the wealthiest actors of his generation.

He said that now that he has the opportunity to help, he will not have second thoughts when it comes to lending a hand to other artists.
