In July 2022, Pokwang and Lee O’Brian officially called it quits. In the same month, the actress admitted that the cause of their breakup wasn’t over money or a third party, “Siguro napagod lang kami… Kasi ako ‘yung taong lahat tinitiis ko, hangga’t kaya ko, ako lang,” and even said Lee is a good person.

In her recent interview with Boy Abunda, the Kapuso star clarified her previous statements regarding her split from her former partner. In her interview, she was asked why she lied that there was no third party and no money involved in their split.

The actress said that their business had something to do with their break up. She also revealed that didn’t feel loved by Lee.

“Naging matigas ang ulo ko. Ayaw ng nanay ko sa kaniya…”

“Ma sorry. Sorry Ma hindi ako nakinig sa ‘yo. Sorry po. Kailangan ko po ng yakap niyo Ma. Nami-miss ko na si Mama, pero ‘di ba ayokong sumama,” she said.

Pokwang’s mother gradually got weakened due to dementia, until she passed away in 2020 at the height of the pandemic. She also passed on to her children the lesson she learned after her break up with Lee.

“Magtira kayo para sa sarili niyo mga anak. Kasi ‘yun ang hindi ko ginawa. Magtira kayo para sa sarili niyo para kapag dumating ang tamang tao meron pa kayong ishe-share na pagmamahal para sa tamang tao sa buhay niyo,” she said.
