BI Warns vs Fake P5-M Offer For Removal from BI’s Blacklist

BI Warns Public Against Removal from BI’s Blacklist Offer for P5-M

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) warned the public against the offer that promised removal from the agency’s blacklist.

According to BI spokesman Dana Sandoval, the offer that is now spreading on social media is a fraud or a hoax. According to the article, an individual’s name can be removed off the agency’s blacklist for a fee ranging from P1 million to P5 million.

“We think this is one of those spreading scams that invite you to transact with them online,” said the BI spokesperson in an interview with GMA News.

BI Blacklist Removal

This follows claims that there are internet offerings to remove the name from the BI blacklist. According to Ka Kuen Chua, chairperson of the Movement for the Restoration of Peace and Order (MRPO), these offers are currently circulating on Chinese social media sites.

“We noticed, it was mentioned during the Senate hearing that these advertisements are seen on Facebook. So we are worried that this is another one of the scams that we previously advised the public,” he shared.

“So far, we have not seen any strange activities in the lifting of the blacklist or the inclusion of the blacklist and other such immigration transactions,” he continued.

According to Sandoval, the CIA has a blacklist of millions of foreigners. These are several immigration infractions. He also mentioned indigency, overstaying, and other such infractions. Meanwhile, more than 300 foreign nationals are alleged to be incarcerated at the BI Warden Facility, which only has a capacity of 100 individuals.
