Inmate Inside Airport Police Headquarters Escapes Detention Facility

Airport Police Headquarters Conducts Investigation After Inmate Escapes Detention Facility

An inmate identified as Ramie Dela Cruz inside the Airport Police Headquarters was able to escape the detention facility.

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) seeks help from the Philippine National Police (PNP) to locate a 34-year-old inmate who escaped from the detention facility of Airport Police Headquarters.

MIAA General Manager Cesar Chiong ordered the authorities to investigate on how Dela Cruz escaped from his jail cell. The male suspect is a resident of Taguig City, according to the authorities.

The authorities assumed that Dela Cruz inserted his head between the steel bars of the jail cell. The culprit lifted his body and passed on the jail bars then jumped from the high wall of APD headquarters.

Dela Cruz took the opportunity to escape while the two guards are busy performing their duties. The security personnel did not notice the fugitive’s activity.

The culprit has been already jailed twice after he was arrested at the NAIA terminal for stealing copper wires and for stealing valuables from several stores. The cops reported that Ramie is familiar with the airport’s vicinity.

The inmate previously works at the airport terminal as a contractor airconditioner technician. Two guards and APD personnel will face charges for the negligence of duty.

The incident serves as a reminder to the police officers and airport authorities to implement stricter measures to avoid similar incidents.
