PAGASA Says Amihan & Shear Line to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon and shear line will bring rain over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (January 28, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will be affecting Luzon. Cloudy weather condition with rains are expected over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Aurora, Abra, and Benguet.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience similar weather condition.

The shear line will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Palawan.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains is expected over Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience similar weather condition due to amihan.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and Visayas will be moderate. Meanwhile, Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
