Based on a report from Inquirer, a game-worn jersey of LeBron sold for $3.7 million at auction on Friday, breaking the previous record for one of his jerseys by five times.

According to the report, the sales come with increased interest in the 38-year-old Los Angeles Lakers legend, who is closing up on the NBA’s all-time scoring record.
Sotheby’s in New York sold the jersey, which LeBron wore during the Miami Heat’s game seven victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals. The previous record for a James All-Star jersey worn in 2020 was $630,000.
Based on the report, Michael Jordan’s 1998 NBA Finals jersey is presently the most valued such item, having sold for $10.1 million in September 2022. Last year, Diego Maradona’s “Hand of God” jersey sold for $9.3 million at Sotheby’s in London.
LeBron only needs 178 points to break Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-record Jabbar’s of 38,387 points, which is one of the most sought and long-standing in sports.
