Pia Wurtzbach had this crowning moment “manifestation”
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach recalled her Twitter post about winning the crown in the most prestigious international beauty pageant.
Pia is the third Pinay beauty queen who won the Miss Universe crown. It is known to many that she went through a lot before becoming the Philippines’ representative in the international competition.
Pia joined the Binibining Pilipinas three times before she won which would allow her to be the country’s candidate for Miss Universe. When that happened, it was still not a smooth-sailing journey for her. During an interview on Vicki Belo’s vlog, the former beauty queen shared the struggles she had to face before the coronation night.
She also recalled the moment when she was initially called as the first runner-up and the time it was corrected by host Steve Harvey.
In a recent Twitter post, Pia Wurtzbach recalled her past tweet in which she said, “Ako bahala. Babawi tayo sa Miss Universe.” She said that it still brings her “kilig” when netizens are talking about that statement that she did way before the competition happened.
“Thank you for believing in me,” she said. This post that Pia shared received support from her fans some even shared that this has become their way of being optimistic also. A netizen shared a compilation of negative reactions that the tweet received. There were netizens who mocked Pia and accused her of being over-confident.
From 2010, since the time Venus Raj represented the Philippines in Miss Universe, Pinay beauty queens created a streak. For 12 years, PH’s bets have reached the semifinalist round. Then, in 2015, Pia Wurtzbach won the crown, and it was Catriona Gray in 2018.
However, Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi received criticism for breaking the 12-year streak.
