Mikee Quintos talked about her showbiz career
Kapuso actress Mikee Quintos admitted that becoming an actress was not her dream and that being in showbiz just happened in her life.
Aside from being an actress, Mikee or Mikaela Marie Javier Quintos is also a singer. From the time she started her showbiz career, she already appeared in several Kapuso shows. However, in the beginning, being an actress was not her plan.
Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, during a recent interview on the Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel podcast, Mikee shared that initially, she has no plan to be in the entertainment industry.
The actress revealed that she was just recruited to audition for the talent reality show Starstruck. However, she was not able to get in. Then, the same recruiter saw her at a mall where her friend was performing for To the Top, another reality talent search.
“Sabi niya, ‘VTR ka, try mo lang.’ Nung nag-VTR ako, ‘yun na po. A month later, nag-panel na ‘ko with the managers,” Mikee Quintos shared. A week before the finals of To the Top, she auditioned for Sparkle, the talent management agency of GMA. In the same month, Mikee signed a contract.
She attended acting workshops for a year and after that, she was able to get the role of Lira in the Kapuso fantasy series Encantadia. Two months before the story conference, she and her co-star Migo Adecer did the look test.
“Sobrang kabado pa ako nun kasi ayaw nila sabihin for Enca e. Ayaw nila sabihin sa’kin na para sa kung anong project,” Mikee Quintos said, adding that she was just thinking that she will do her best and she got the role.
Mikee also shared that although she got the role, she received criticism as a new actress. However, she did not allow that to dishearten her. She focused on doing her best when it comes to her roles and eventually, people’s opinions about her changed.
