Alden Richards Answers All Rumors About Him and Maine Mendoza
Kapuso actor Alden Richards clarified all the rumors about him and his former on-screen partner Maine Mendoza.
In a guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” which aired on Wednesday, January 25, Alden broke his silence about marrying and having a child with Maine Mendoza. Maine was his partner in their incredible love team at the time, “AlDub.”
Alden stated in the interview that despite their diverging paths, he and Maine remained friends. At the same time, Alden corrected some “AlDub” fans’ speculation that he and Maine married and had a child.
“Right now po kasi, kami ni Maine ngayon we’re at a point na we’re not getting any younger, and we’ve already made our, of course, personal choices. We’re very good friends up to this point.”
Alden and Maine’s love team, AlDub, was a smash that began in Kalyeserye of the GMA noontime show “Eat Bulaga.” Alden’s statement was also discussed at a press conference in Cebu last November.
He stated, “Nobody controls my life. No one dictates. I make my own choices, I make my own decisions.” The Kapuso actor also stated that he was tired of some people’s continual demands on him.
“At a certain point, medyo nakapapagod din pala siya. Dumating po ako sa point na, when I was really burned out with all of these demands and things that people want from me, when I stepped out (and) looked (at the) bigger picture, wala na po akong identity. Parang, nasaan na ‘yung pagkatao ko? Lagi na lang ba akong susunod sa ibang tao, sa gusto ng mga tao na makita sa akin. Napagod lang po ako sa point na ‘yun,” he said.
