Carlo Aquino has a new project that will be shot in Japan
Kapamilya actor Carlo Aquino started shooting for his first-ever international movie in Japan.
To recall, Carlo’s supposed first international acting project was the Korean series Squid Games. He revealed that he was supposed to be one of the cast members but due to the pandemic, he was not able to go to South Korea for the filming.
In September last year, Carlo, together with Star Magic head Direk Lauren Dyogi, signed a contract with Japanese production company 034 Productions. Just recently, Direk Lauren shared that the filming has commenced.
In his recent Instagram post, the Star Magic head shared snaps taken during the shoot. “As Star Magic ventures into international collaboration for our artists, Carlo starts filming his latest project in Tokyo costarring with Japanese Hollywood actor Takehiro Hira (Snake Eyes) and Sho Ikushima,” Direk Lauren wrote in the caption of his post.
He also shared that Star Magic artist and half-Japanese Kei Kurosawa is also part of the film. This movie project is directed by Donie Ordiales, a Tokyo-based director who studied Film in Japan.
“Exciting to watch Carlo perform alongside veteran international artists. Hira-San has the intensity, maturity, and aura of a seasoned thespian. Iba enegy nila together. What a privilege to witness this cinematic magic unfold,” Direk Lauren enthused. As of this writing, no further details have yet been shared about the first international film of Carlo Aquino.
Meanwhile, Carlo Aquino has recently admitted that he and Kapamilya actress Charlie Dizon are dating. He was formerly in a relationship with social media influencer Trina Candaza and they have a daughter named Mithi.
