GAB CHEE KEE – The guitarist of the popular Pinoy band Parokya ni Edgar gets hospitalized and in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

On Wednesday (January 18, 2023), Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda announced that the band’s guitarist  Gab Chee Kee is in ICU and battling lymphoma-induced pneumonia. Gab was diagnosed with lymphoma last year.

Miranda claims that despite being diagnosed, Gab still chose to play for Parokya. Eventually, Kee stopped after the doctors advised him to stop playing gigs and rest.

Chito initially objected to continuing their shows without Gab, but the guitarist convinced them to move forward with their plans. The singer also revealed that Gab’s condition had already deteriorated and he was admitted to the intensive care unit.

“Unfortunately, due to complications brought about by his condition, he is now battling pneumonia and was recently transferred sa ICU and has been intubated for more than a week already. He was financially prepared naman for the chemotherapy…but now, his family needs help with the overwhelming hospital bills,” Miranda said.

As the band prepares to organize benefit shows for its guitarist, the PNE frontman used the opportunity to ask for financial support from friends and supporters to help pay for Chee Kee’s surging hospital bills.
