A TikToker mom Mama Lulu shares thoughts on the controversial icing issue of vlogger-actress Alex Gonzaga during her birthday.
Alex Gonzaga’s 35th birthday party sparked outrage on social media. Alex blew the candle on her cake, which was held by a restaurant crew, at her birthday salubong, which was hosted at a restaurant in Makati City, after the crowd sung a birthday song for her.
Following that, she softly tapped her fingers on the cake icing and smeared some of it over the waiter’s forehead who was holding the dessert. Many netizens were outraged by this. Many netizens thought it was a disrespectful gesture, but others defended the actress-vlogger.
Several internet personalities have also chimed in with their thoughts on Alex’s behavior. One of them is the Filipino TikToker, who lives in the United States, and her mother, Mama Lulu.
Based on her video, Mama Lulu claims that if she were the waiter, she would be enraged. She went on to say that it is impolite and that people should be respectful in any case. She also stated that the most important thing is respect.
“Siyempre magagalit ako pag ibang tao… Kung ibang tao, ibang usapan na yon. Bastusan yon, di ba. Hindi dapat ganon. Respesto lang ang hinihingi ng bawag tao sa isa’t-isa,” she said.
Mababa man o maliit, kailangan mo respetuhin dahil nagtatrabaho nang marangal yung tao. Lahat tayo ay may kanya-kanyang dignidad. Respect, that’s the number one,” she added.
