PAGASA Says Generally Fair Weather Expected Over Parts of PH

LATEST WEATHER UPDATE – The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the country generally sees fair weather conditions.

On Wednesday (January 18, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country.  The LPA northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the shear Line will be affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas. The shearline will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and Aurora.

Sa ngayon ay wala naman tayong low pressure area na binabantayan o namamataan sa loob at labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility na maaring makaapekto sa atin sa mga susunod na araw kaya naman generally magiging maaliwalas na rin ang panahon sa malaking bahagi ng bansa, maliban na lang sa southern Luzon areas sa mga susunod na araw,” Pagasa weather forecaster Patrick Del Mundo said.

The northeast monsoon will bring similar weather condition over Apayao and Cagayan Valley. Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with light rains over the rest of Luzon.

The localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather condition over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has warned public of possible flooding or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will be rough. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions. Mindanao will experience slight to moderate coastal water, according to the weather bureau.
