Barbie Imperial admits that she lost happiness from within in 2022
Actress Barbie Imperial shared her journey in finding happiness from within after her breakup with actor Diego Loyzaga.
Early last year, it was confirmed that Diego and Barbie are no longer together. Prior to the breakup confirmation, rumors were already spreading that their relationship was on the rocks.
In a previous statement, Barbie said that even though she and Diego broke up, she can still say that 2022 was not a bad year entirely. In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, the actress said that after the breakup, her goal is to be happy even when she is alone.
“My 2022 was like a roller-coaster ride—magulo minsan, masaya minsan. But I learned a lot from my experiences last year. I’m excited to make more movies this year, as well as to grow and learn more as an artist, and to be happy, of course,” Barbie Imperial said.
She also said that she lost that kind of happiness last year. For her, being truly happy is feeling happiness even when she is alone. “I would often tell myself, ‘Kaya ko ito!’ But I realized that it’s more than what you say, you have to truly feel it in your heart and mind,” the actress shared.
She also said that if a person is truly happy from within, that person wouldn’t need other people’s company to feel complete. Before, she would have the mindset of needing someone in her life in order to be happy.
However, this has changed, Barbie said. When she is sad, the actress shared that she would find a source of happiness to lift her up. On the other hand, she pointed out that there is nothing wrong to have friends she can lean on.
“It’s just that I’m liking this version of myself now, the one who is able to carry on even when alone,” Barbie Imperial said.
