This year, Philippines’ bet Celeste Cortesi was not able to enter the Top 16 ending the 12-year streak of the country being included in the said stage of the pageant. Although this made many Pinoy pageant fans sad, somehow, there is a feeling of consolation because the winner also has Filipino blood.

Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel’s father is Filipino and was also there during the coronation night cheering for her. After the pageant night, Gabriel faced the media and answered the questions from reporters.

Kapamilya report Dyan Castillejo asked the newly-crowned MU queen if what she can say to her Filipino fans who were also cheering for her during the pageant night. Then, Dianne requested if she could say it in Filipino.

Mabuhay Philippines! Mabuhay Filipino fans! Maraming-maraming salamat sa lahat ng tulong ninyo,” she said, adding that she feels the support in her heart and she heard it in the room.

She also said that it was amazing energy during the pageant night. “The Filipino blood is so strong,” Gabriel said. She also enumerated the beautiful traits of Filipinos such as being hard-working, fun, and so determined.

“I’m so proud to be half-Filipina,” the Miss Universe 2022 said. This portion of the interview was shared on the official Twitter page of ABS-CBN and Pinoy netizens shared various reactions. Here are some comments.
