Rico Duragos, 57, watched the suspect, Marlowe Crisostomo, shoot their dog twice with a long rifle from a distance. When police arrived at the suspect’s home, he allegedly disputed the claim and refused to yield his revolver.

However, a few minutes later, Police Staff Sergeant De Guzman discovered and collected the purported long gun, which had been put near the suspect’s house next to a mango tree. According to the report, the gun used in the incident was a Squires Bingham Model caliber.22.

The suspect and the recovered pistol were taken to the PNP station. According to Staff Sergeant Paul John Aquino, the case’s investigator, he has been charged in the provincial prosecutor’s office with Violation of Animal Cruelty (RA 8485) and Illegal Possession of a Firearm (RA 10591).

“Inalalayan pang mabuti ng mga may ari ng aso na pakainin ito para mabuhay. Nakabaon pa sa panga ng aso ang bala na tumama dito,” the police said in an interview.
